CALDERA is a fictional volcano observatory invented for this website template. The station, its staff, its instruments, and every reading, alert level and episode on this page are samples. Nothing here reports a real or current eruption.
The footage is real: public-domain video of Kīlauea, Hawaiʻi, recorded by scientists of the U.S. Geological Survey and the National Park Service, and trimmed for this demo. The fiction is the frame around it.
Sample template. The rim overlook and the drum room would open daily at dawn. There is nothing to book: this page is a design demonstration and its links go nowhere.
