POURED
IN CODE
An architecture studio that designs by rule, not by mood. Our signature tower is on this page, standing in live weather: scroll and you climb it from blueprint to dusk.
Every tower starts as an argument in lines.
Before concrete there is the rule set: step back here, hold the street wall there, give the sky something to read. We draw that argument first and defend it all the way up.
Setbacks earn the sky.
Each floor steps back by rule, not by whim. The result looks inevitable, which is the hardest look in architecture to get and the only one we sign.
At dusk the building clocks in.
Past half height the windows warm floor by floor, and the tower stops being a diagram and starts being a neighborhood. That is the moment we design for.
One rule, forty floors.
Selected
work.
Twelve built projects, three continents, one material obsession. A few we are allowed to show.
Halden House
A stepped courtyard block in Oslo. Ninety homes, one shared roof, zero wasted corridors.
Corten Library
A public reading room wrapped in weathering steel fins. Quietest loud building in Porto.
Silos 9
A grain terminal turned vertical gallery. The concrete remembers; the light is new.
A studio of eleven, arguing carefully.
Monolith is eleven architects, two structural engineers and one very patient model-maker in a former print works in Rotterdam. We take on four projects a year and finish them. Competitions won: nine. Buildings we would change: none we will name.
Bring us a difficult site.
Steep, small, contaminated, politically impossible: those are our favorites. New project inquiries answered within a week.
Fictional studio - projects, people and contact details are sample content.
