Scroll - the strand is strung
A model wearing the Nacre pearl strand
IV - Worn in light

THE STRAND,
AT REST ON SKIN

Twenty-one pearls, matched for lustre over a single sitting. Each one is knotted by hand against the next, so the strand moves the way water does - and so that no two pearls ever touch. The clasp is worked in 18k gold and disappears into the nape.

The making

THREE HOURS,
ONE STRAND

01 / ORIGIN

Born of the sea

Each pearl is selected from a single harvest lot, graded for overtone and surface before it ever meets the silk.

02 / LUSTRE

Matched by eye

Pearls are paired in north-facing daylight, never under lamps. Lustre is judged by the sharpness of the reflection they return.

03 / KNOTTING

Knotted by hand

A single silk thread, a knot between every pearl. The strand is finished with an 18k gold clasp, signed inside.
