SIDE STREET OBSERVATORY - EST. 1962 (INVENTED) - BUFFALO, NY (INVENTED)
Sidereal is a fictional neighborhood planetarium. One dome, one very patient projector, and a sky that starts every night at dusk. Nothing here is a real venue - but the star field really turns when you drag it.
NOW SHOWING - SAMPLE PROGRAM
TONIGHT'S SKY: LIVE
The presenter flies the dome through whatever is actually overhead - constellations, planets, one satellite if it behaves. All narration invented.
AURORA
A full-dome film about the northern lights, from solar wind to green fire over the ice. Soundtrack by a fictional choir of very cold people.
THE MOON, UP CLOSE
A slow lap around the Moon in borrowed telescope light - craters, seas, and the far side nobody shows you. Narrator is fictional; the craters are not.
THE DOME - PICK YOUR SEATS (SAMPLE)
TAP SEATS ON THE CHART. CENTER RINGS RECLINE FURTHER. PRICES INVENTED - THIS VENUE DOES NOT EXIST.
TONIGHT OVER BUFFALO (INVENTED FORECAST)
Scroll this far on a clear night here and the W of Cassiopeia is already up in the northeast. Our dome traces it for you, minus the frostbite. Forecast, position and times on this page are invented.
