Outer Reef / Surf forecasting / Peniche

Read the swell before it lands

A forecast desk for people who paddle out at first light. The water behind this page is simulated: scroll and it grows from dusk chop to a dawn set.

Step 01 / Dusk

Far out, it is only a ripple.

A swell starts days away as a low line on the horizon. We track it from the first buoy reading, long before the beach can see it.

Step 02 / The build

Period decides everything.

Wave height gets the headline, but the gap between waves tells you how much push is behind them. Long and slow means clean power.

Step 03 / First light

Then the wind drops.

Offshore air at sunrise smooths the face and holds it up. That window is short, so we message you while the board is still on the roof.

Numbers you can paddle out on.
